New OIC Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu arrives in Jeddah to begin his term

Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu of Turkey, the newly-elected Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), arrived in Jeddah Sunday to begin his four-year term.  Professor Ihsanoglu will formally take over his post on Saturday from outgoing Secretary-General Dr. Abdulouhed Belkeziz of Morocco. Dr. Ihsanoglu was elected Secretary-General at the 31st Session of the Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers in Istanbul, July 15, 2004.
