Prince Talal at Arab Women’s Center in Tunis

Agfund President Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz, who is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Women’s Center for Training and Research, said at a press conference in Tunis yesterday that the Center is a pioneer not only in the Arab world, but internationally. Civil society, he said, is the underpinning for government, and all international conventions stipulate the importance of recognizing the rights of women in this. Saudi Arabia is a signatory of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), adopted in 1979 by the UN General Assembly.
