IDB writes off part of Mauritania's debt

The Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank (IDB) signed an agreement with the Republic of Mauritania in Nouakchott today to write off U.S. $ 15.5 million of that country's total debt to the bank, which amounts to $ 53.2 million. The agreement came within the framework of the bank's commitment to the global initiative to write off the debts of the least developed countries.
