Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz held a reception in Mina yesterday in honor of the heads of the Hajj missions and Muslim dignitaries. The reception was attended by Sudanese President Omer Al-Basheer; Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh; Maldives' President Mamoun Abdel-Gayyoum; Somalia's President Abdul Kasem Hassan Salad; Senegalese President Abdullah Wad; Sierra Leone's President Dr Ahmed Tijan Kabeh; Comoro's Vice-President Bin Masaud Rashid; Assistant Iranian President Mohammed Ali Abtahi, Afghanistan's deputy premier Nimatallah Shahrani; speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Barri and speaker of the Yemeni Parliament Shaikh Abdullah Al-Ahmar. The reception was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz.

Speaking on behalf of the guests, head of the Senegalese mission Dr. Tashir Nokah Al-Habib commented that Hajj, the fifth pillar of Islam, aims at absolute submission to God Almighty, and stands as a symbol of Muslims' unity and solidarity. The Hajj season, he said, is a suitable time for exchanging views on problems facing the Muslim world.
