Prince Nayef promotes Saudization at businessmen's conference

Minister of Interior Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz, in his capacity as head of the Manpower Council, today attended the sixth annual conference of Saudi businessmen, hosted by the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry. In his address, Prince Nayef declared that since Saudization is a vital and strategic issue of interest to Saudi society, the government has given it priority, citing the recent decision to set a ceiling on the number of foreign workers in order to open up opportunities for the employment of more Saudi nationals. He added that the government has recognized the importance of the private sector's active role in economic activity, stressing its concern to create an economic environment that attracts national capital for investment inside the Kingdom. The private sector, he said, shoulders great responsibility for achieving Saudization, since it employs over 5 million foreign workers. As for young Saudis, he called on them to get involved in all the activities of the private sector, and urged businessmen to provide job opportunities to enhance development in the Kingdom.
