Minister of Water Dr. Ghazi Al-Qusaibi, at a meeting yesterday of concerned parties, stressed the importance of training young Saudis to enable them to work in all branches of his ministry, and called for the formation of two committees, one to deal with scholarships for this purpose, and another to conduct an integrated study for computer network training for ministry personnel. Dr. Al-Qusaibi went on to urge rationalization of water consumption, and reviewed the feasibility of standardizing specifications for water and sewage pipes as well as for water meters.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Water Dr. Ali Bin Saad has announced that five dams will be built in the provinces of Asir, Jizan and Makkah. Funds for these projects have already been allocated in the Ministry's annual budget of SR 6 billion [U.S. $1.26 billion].
