Saudi TV fundraiser planned, as aid distributed in Iraq

The Saudi Red Crescent Society continues to distribute aid to the Iraqi people. Three trucks today off-loaded 1,200 food baskets each in Baghdad, and tomorrow 50 fully-equipped ambulances will be delivered to the Iraqi Red Crescent Society. The Saudi field hospital has already carried out its first operation. The hospital has a double operating theater as well as an intensive care and anesthetics unit.

Meanwhile, a royal decree was issued yesterday for a charity campaign to be launched on Saturday, April 26, to collect donations for the Iraqi people, within the framework of the Kingdom's humanitarian assistance to the Muslims throughout the world. The Ministry of Information is organizing a direct television transmission on Saturday afternoon as a fundraiser.
