SAA modifies fleet to U.S. security standards

Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAA) has successfully completed the required modifications on 21 planes of its air fleet in line with the regulations of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and the Organization for the Safety of Air Transport that stipulate enhanced security measures in the cockpits of planes over-flying U.S. airspace. The measure, to install in cockpits bulletproof doors capable of preventing any attempt to break in, was called for in the aftermath of September 11, and must be put into effect by November 1, 2003.
