Crown Prince Abdullah announces new center for national dialogue

Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, at the conclusion today of the National Forum for Intellectual Dialogue in Jeddah, announced the establishment, by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz, of the King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue to promote dialogue as a constructive way of life in the Kingdom. The Center, said Crown Prince Abdullah, will be located in Riyadh, and serve as a platform for continuing and expanding the scope of a national dialogue based on two pillars: sharia [Islamic Law] and national integrity. The Crown Prince added that Saudi Arabia, home of Islam's two holiest mosques, will uphold moderation and never accept extremism. (full text of announcement)
