Health ministry issues directives for this year's hajj season

The Ministry of Health today issued directives on the health condition of those interested in performing this year's Hajj pilgrimage, whether resident in the Kingdom or coming from overseas. All those coming from countries infected with yellow fever must present a certificate of vaccination against this contagious disease. All pilgrims, without exception, must show proof of vaccination against meningitis, with penalties for infraction; checks will be conducted at arrival locations to determine that all pilgrims have been vaccinated against meningitis within at least ten days and not exceeding three years. There will be strict medical surveillance at all the Kingdom's borders for those coming from countries infected by SARS and dengue fever, as well as meningitis and yellow fever.
