GCC Investment Forum 2003 opens in Riyadh

Governor of Riyadh Province Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz inaugurated in Riyadh today the 'Investment Forum 2003', a four-day conference and exhibition in which over 100 Gulf companies are participating, organized by the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) in cooperation with the Middle East International Information Center. In his address, SAGIA Governor Prince Abdullah bin Faisal bin Turki referred to the great development that Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) companies have witnessed over the past fifteen years, and expressed the wish that small and medium establishments and all kinds of investment in GCC countries be supported in order to improve the region economically and commercially. The conference aims at opening new investment horizons for the GCC member states, and attracting foreign capital. Under discussion will be topics such as investment policies and legislations in the GCC member states, the role of the private sector in development of local investment, and administrative and organizational obstacles that face it.
