Commerce Minister receives U.S. delegation in Riyadh

Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Hashim Yamani received in Riyadh today the delegation visiting the Kingdom headed by Dr. Samuel Bodman, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce. During the meeting, they discussed commercial and industrial relations, exploitation of all opportunities and privileges available to set up joint productive and investment projects among businessmen in the two countries, the increased volume of trade exchange, exchange of benefits between the two private sectors, and the latest developments in the Kingdom's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO). The volume of trade exchange between Saudi Arabia and the United States was SR 67 billion [U.S. $ 17.88 billion] in 2001, with imports of SR 21 billion [$ 5.7 billion] and exports SR 46 billion [$ 12.28 billion].
