Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz today received SAMA's 39th annual report from Governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) Hamad Al-Sayyari. In his presentation speech he reported progress in the Saudi economy, including a drop in 2002 of the general cost of living index by 0.6 percent, and a surplus in the balance of payments of SR 44.5 billion [U.S. $ 11.88 billion].
