As a result of the Ministry of Pilgrimage's appeal to the Saudi private sector, a new IT company through which it can outsource data on promoting umrah [the minor pilgrimage] is being set up by a consortium of Saudi investors, led by the Jeraisy Group. Other members include Xenal and GAMA. The company, to be known as Sejal Technology, will be capitalized at SR 200 million [U.S. $ 53.4 million], and have Abdulrahman Al-Jeraisy as its chairman. It is expected to be operational by the end of this year. Meanwhile, the Ministry has authorized Saudi travel agencies to process one-month visas for performance of umrah to pilgrims coming from all over the world.
