The second Islamic conference on astronomy will open in Amman, Jordan on Monday October 29. The three-day conference will discuss research on the applications of astronomy in Islamic shariah [Law], including preparation of a comprehensive lunar calendar to determine the exact dates of the start of the hijrah months and Islamic festivals.
