In his sermon at Friday prayers today, Imam of the Holy Mosque in Makkah Sheikh Abdelrahman Al-Sudeis urged Muslims to adhere strictly to the teachings of Islam and to fear God Almighty. Referring to the Holy Mosque as a towering edifice and Makkah as a symbol of faith, the fountain of Islamic call, and the focus of the great Islamic civilization, he called on pilgrims, while revering the sanctity of Makkah, to take the opportunity Hajj offers to meet with brothers from all over the world. The pilgrimage, he said, is of benefit in this world as well as in the hereafter, and it is high time for all Muslims to work in earnest towards elimination of the problems and disasters that have befallen them.

In Madinah, Imam of the Prophet's Mosque Sheikh Ali bin Abdelrahman Al-Huzeifi also urged Muslims to follow the teachings of the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah (the teachings of the Prophet), particularly during the blessed first ten days of the lunar month of Dhu Al-Hajjah, and prayed to God that the pilgrims might perform their rituals in comfort and ease, and their leaders might head in the right direction.
