Aramco denies report of gas pipeline fire

Saudi Aramco today denied a report that fire had broken out in a natural gas pipeline to the west of the city of Riyadh, explaining that residual gas is being burned off during routine maintenance. This operation, a regular precautionary measure that constitutes no danger or harm, will continue until tomorrow in the pipeline that supplies gas fuel to power generating station number (8) in the Uraija quarter in the western part of Riyadh, an affiliate of the consolidated Saudi Electricity Company (Central Region).
