The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today issued the following statement:
"In consideration of the importance of the meeting of the ad hoc Arab-African Cooperation Committee, due to be held in Algeria, and the positive impact it is expected to have on both the Arab and the African sides, as well as the importance of taking all possible measures to guarantee its success, in line with the resolution of the Arab Summit conference calling for the assignment of the Secretary-General of the Arab League to work for removal of all obstacles that might impede the meeting, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia hopes that the meeting will be postponed until all means of achieving the desired goals are implemented.
"The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would like to reiterate its desire to participate in all meetings of the committee, once the fundamentals included in the resolution adopted by the recent Arab Summit are met."
