Saudi leadership sends greetings on start of Holy Month

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz and Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz today extended congratulations on the Holy Month of Ramadan, the first day of which is tomorrow, Friday, November 16. In an address delivered on radio and television by Information Minister Fuad Al-Farsi, they explained the significance of the fast, citing the Holy Qur'an and the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad, and urging all Muslims to take full advantage of the opportunity of this "month of worship and of seeking forgiveness."  King Fahd and Crown Prince Abdullah both sent cables greeting the leaders of Muslim countries, as did Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz.
