Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz today concluded his three-day state visit to the Republic of Yemen, during which he held extensive talks with Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh that focused on recent global developments as well as issues of mutual interest. Yesterday, Crown Prince Abdullah attended the ceremony celebrating the 11th anniversary of the reunification of Yemen. He also took the opportunity of touring the City of Aden by bus.

In a statement on the occasion of National Day, President Saleh remarked that the border treaty signed by the Saudi Arabia and Yemen had laid a solid foundation for cooperation between the two countries, and would promote the cause of security and stability in the region.
President Saleh went on to call for moral and material support to the Palestinian intifada and backing for the Palestinian people in their struggle to regain their legitimate rights including that to establish an independent state on their homeland with Al-Quds [Jerusalem] as its capital.
