At the outset of the meeting, King Fahd congratulated all students, male and female, on their successful completion of another academic year, and wished them further success, advising them to avail themselves of the recreation facilities set up for them to make best use of their leisure time during the summer vacation. Referring to the Kingdom's various resorts and beaches, he declared: "Touring our country has certain basic aspects such as security, safety, moderate cost and rich natural resources, and this why many people are now turning to domestic tourism."
The cabinet then passed a number of resolutions, including directives to the ad hoc committee representing the Ministry of Health and the Commission of Investigation and Public Prosecution to put into effect the executive bill regarding the United Nations agreement on combating drug trafficking; authorization for the Foreign Minister or his deputy to conclude an economic, commercial, investment and technical agreement with the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; ratification of the agreement on prevention of industrial accidents as endorsed by the International Labor Conference; authorization for the Minister of Communications or his deputy to prepare two draft agreements on land transportation of passengers and goods, and cooperation on marine transportation with the Republic of Yemen within the framework of the Saudi-Yemeni Coordination Council; and authorization for the Minister of Agriculture and Water or his deputy to sign two draft agreements on cooperation in agriculture and water resources with the People's Republic of China.
