Arab trade and economy ministers meet in Cairo

Minister of Commerce Osama Faqih, in an address in Cairo yesterday to the meeting of trade and commerce ministers of the League of Arab States, stressed the need for a clear Arab vision and strategy at the Fourth Economic Conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO) due to be held in Doha, Qatar, in November. He praised the initiative of the Arab Republic of Egypt in convening the two-day meeting in Cairo prior to the Doha conference in order to coordinate viewpoints on issues of concern to the Arab world. Also in Cairo are the trade ministers from Egypt, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen, Tunisia, Jordan, Libya, Sudan, Oman, Morocco, Qatar and Algeria.
