Saudi leadership promotes tourism

Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz paid a visit yesterday to the Mersal Resort near Jeddah, as part of the Saudi leadership's effort to encourage Saudi businessmen to invest in tourism while adhering to the Kingdom's traditions and Islamic shari'ah [Law].

Meanwhile, Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz arrived in Asir Province yesterday to open the Armed Forces Exhibition in Khamis Al-Mishayt. In nearby Abha, Governor of Asir Province Prince Khalid Al-Faisal yesterday launched the Abha Marketing Festival for 1422 H [2001], in the presence of head of the Supreme Commission for Tourism Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. In addition to over 300 Saudi companies, taking part in the Festival are enterprises from Bahrain, India, Iran, Lebanon, Singapore, Syria and Yemen.
