Upcoming medical conferences in Saudi Arabia

The King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Riyadh has announced that its Research Center will hold an international conference in October on cancer, with a focus on breast cancer and leukemia. Over 50 oncologists from inside and outside the Kingdom are expected to attend.

Meanwhile, on September 30, 2001 Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz will inaugurate in Riyadh the 48th meeting of the eastern Mediterranean regional committee of the World Health Organization (WHO). The focus of the meeting, attended by health ministers in the region, will be on WHO's role in emergency situations and improvement of nursing services as well as specific health problems.
