Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz today received Minister of Education Dr. Muhammad Al-Rasheed and a delegation that came to greet him on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of the education ministry. King Fahd took the opportunity to urge them to exert their utmost efforts to spread knowledge and science among the Kingdom's citizens and to place education at the disposal of Islam.

Dr. Al-Rasheed expressed the thanks of all Saudi students, male and female, as well as their parents, for the care being extended to education by the Saudi government, and referred to the fact the King Fahd, then Prince, was the Kingdom's first Minister of Education. He then briefed King Fahd on the outcome of the recent conference in Jeddah of high-ranking education officials.
