IIRO denounces accusations against its mission

The Islamic International Relief Organization (IIRO) today denounced accusations against its operations and its mission. Secretary-General Dr. Adnan bin Khaleel Basha stressed that the IIRO works in complete transparency through its offices and representatives in over fifty countries. The IIRO, he said, is an affiliate of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), and has links with numerous international organizations that do humanitarian work, noting that IIRO supports all those in need irrespective of race or nationality. He pointed out in particular IIRO's cooperation with the World Food Program (WFP), the UN's High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), and the German organization 'CAIR' in assisting and supporting refugees and the needy in Sierra Leone, Kenya, Tanzania, Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
