Report on social insurance released

The number of establishments participating in the social insurance system during the year 2000 (1421 h.) reached 32,186 with an increase of 8.9 percent over the previous year.

Individual establishments represented 77.2 percent of total participating establishments, an increase of 12 percent over the previous year, and establishments employing less than 20 workers constituted 72.2 percent.
The number of subscribers whose rights were settled with the authority reached 7,635,582, an increase of 4.4 percent over the previous year. Of them, workers of the private sector constitute 93.7 and workers of the public sector 6.3.
The number of working subscribers of the social insurance system increased by the end of 200 (1421 h.) to 1,810,267 subscribers, an increase of 4.8 percent over the previous year. Since the beginning until the FY 1999-2000 (1420/1421 h.), total compensation benefited 1,750,151 persons at a cost of more than $55.2 billion (SR 20.7 billion).
