OIC prepare for upcomign WTO meeting

Interior Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz today chaired the closing session of the three-day consultative meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) that is preparing for the fourth ministerial conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Doha, Qatar, next month. A number of topics were discussed, including e-commerce, intellectual property rights, and Saudi Arabia's application for accession to the WTO. In his address, Prince Nayef stressed the importance of realizing complete harmony between the negotiations for accession to the WTO and the religious pillars on which the Kingdom is based, in a way that will determine the steps to be taken to achieve the utmost benefit of joining the organization while avoiding harm to the country's vital interests. He expressed his appreciation of the efforts being exerted by Saudi officials to meet the WTO's requirements and conditions for accession.
