Crown Prince Abdullah addresses GCC Summit in Muscat

On behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, today addressed in Muscat, Oman the first session of the 22nd Summit of leaders of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). In his speech he stressed that Islam is a religion of tolerance and love and that the killing of one innocent is considered equal to killing all mankind. The Arab and Muslim community, he said, has been severely harmed by the irresponsible behavior of murderers who have hidden under the banner of Islam. Wishing that the current Summit could have been convened under better circumstances, he nevertheless referred to them as a test by God for the staunchness of His believers, citing the Holy Qur'an to the effect that catastrophes are challenges requiring review of attitude.
