Prince Sultan visits Syria

On leaving Amman after a short visit to Jordan, Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz traveled to Damascus, where he was received yesterday by Syrian President Dr. Bashar Al-Assad. A press statement issued last night said that talks between the two sides reflected satisfaction over the extent of cooperation between the two countries in all fields. The talks also stressed the need for Arab and Islamic countries, together with the international community, to put the Middle East peace process on the right track and ensure restoration of their legitimate rights to the Palestinian people, including the establishment of their independent state with Al-Quds [Jerusalem] as its capital.
