Kingdom speaks out on dialogue at UN

In his address to the United Nations' 59th General Assembly session on 'The dialogue of civilizations and ways of eliminating misunderstanding of traditions in societies worldwide', Saudi Ambassador to the United Nations Fawzi Abdulmajeed Shobokshi stressed the Kingdom's conviction that there is need for constructive dialogue among civilizations, and dismissed the idea of a potential struggle. He affirmed that dialogue among civilizations is the only way to reach a new world order based on well-known common moralities that ensure a better future for all humanity. Observing that the world has been witnessing a gap between the north and the south, a growing difference between the rich and poor, and exploitation of minorities, he reiterated that these situations are threatening international peace and security.
