Interior ministry issues warning to overstayers

While appreciating the departure of all those who have responded to previous announcements, the Ministry of Interior today reminded Hajj visa holders who have overstayed the pilgrimage season, to leave at once in order to avoid penalties. The same applies to others who have overstayed with umrah (minor pilgrimage) or visitors' visas, or who entered the Kingdom illegally. The Ministry reminds all those in breach of the iqama (residence permit) regulations to report to the nearest passport office, which will facilitate their departure with no reprisals. The Ministry also reminds all residents, expatriates as well as citizens, and all companies and establishments, that the iqama regulations forbid them from assisting anyone to prolong an illegal stay by offering lodging, transportation, or work.
