Report on Kingdom's non-oil exports

The Customs Department at the Ministry of Finance and National Economy has issued a report on non-oil exports for the first half of 1999, which amounted to SR 9 billion [U.S. $ 2.4 billion]. Topping the list at 46.5 percent of the total volume were petrochemicals, followed by plastic products at 11 percent. The destination of almost one third of the non-oil exports was within the Gulf Cooperation Council member states, chief among them the United Arab Emirates.
