New Islamic prize announced

It was announced today that a new international competition named after Interior Minister Prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz is to be launched to encourage students and researchers of religious knowledge all over the world to conduct studies on Islam and contemporary issues of concern to the Muslim world. The prize will be awarded in four branches: the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah (sayings and deeds) of the Prophet Muhammad; Islamic call; Islamic fiqh (jurisprudence); and biographical studies of Muslim leaders. An annual ceremony will be held under Prince Nayef's patronage to honor the laureates.
