Joint Saudi-French talks began today on procedures for the establishment in Jeddah of the King Abdul Aziz Pediatric Center, attended by President of the National Charitable Foundation for Family Health Care Princess Adilah Bint Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz and Elizabeth Richard, spouse of the French Defense Minister. The center, which will be directly linked to the King Khaled National Guard Hospital, is planned as a Saudi-French cooperative medical project for the transfer of sophisticated technology and expertise in the area of pediatrics. There will be twelve operating rooms, and six specialized sections with a total of 185 beds in addition to 35 beds for intensive care. The center will cater annually for over 100,000 child outpatients and around 17,000 operations.
