Official inquiry into Riyadh car bombings still in progress

The Interior Ministry confirmed yesterday that Mr. Michael Sedlak, a U.S. citizen, had been detained on suspicion of involvement in a car bombing in Riyadh on November 17 resulting in the death of a British citizen and injury to another. Mr. Sedlak is also being questioned about another car bombing in Riyadh injuring three British citizens on November 22. The United States Embassy in Riyadh was immediately informed of the detention, and Embassy officials have met with Mr. Sedlak. The Interior Ministry stated that no charges have been filed against Mr. Sedlak, and that others are also being questioned, adding that when there is any new information, it will be announced.
