The first conference on higher education and scientific research organized by the member states of the

Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) concluded its meetings in Riyadh today, after discussing the

proper mechanisms for implementing a strategy for developing science and technology in Islamic

countries.
In his address, Minister of Higher Education Dr. Khalid Al-Anqari stressed the need for Islamic solidarity in

scientific and technological cooperation, referring to weakness in scientific capabilities as the biggest

obstacle facing comprehensive development in the Islamic world.
