SABIC plans year 2000 expansion in production and sales

Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) is making plans for the year 2000 to increase its total production by 26 percent and boost sales by 17 percent. SABIC's production in 1998 was 25 million tons, 7 percent higher than in 1997.  Minister of Industry and Electricity Dr. Hashim Bin Abdullah Yamani said this will consolidate its place on the world petrochemical map, adding that SABIC has increased its contribution to the Gross National Product (GNP), opened up new channels for global marketing, and involved itself in advanced research and development.
