The Council then reviewed a report by the committee for economic and financial affairs concerning proposals presented by the Ministry of Posts, Telegraphs and Telephones (PTT), pertaining to its dealings with companies which have been granted licenses to facilitate the handling of non-postal items to and from the Kingdom, and decided to postpone a decision in order to give the committee an opportunity to complete its data on this subject within the framework of what was discussed in today's session. This part of the council's session was attended by Director-General of the Civil Service Lt. General Muhammad Al-Suhaili and a number of senior civil service officials.
Yesterday, the Shura Council held a meeting under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman Dr. Abdullah Bin Omar Naseef, and passed a resolution on the need to settle payments of the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) with governmental bodies and private corporations. The resolution stressed the importance of diversifying GOSI's investments and directing them toward productive projects, which would benefit it and at the same time support the national economy. The council also studied the annual report of the King Abdul Aziz Foundation (Darat). The council then approved an amendment to the wording of regulations governing military medals.
