King Abdullah of Jordan on state visit to Saudi Arabia

King Abdullah of Jordan arrived in Jeddah yesterday on a state visit to Saudi Arabia. He was welcomed by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Commander of the National Guard Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector-General Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, and Governor of Makkah Province Prince Majed bin Abdul Aziz. Later, he received Prince Sultan at his residence in Jeddah for talks on bilateral relations, and attended a reception in his honor given by King Fahd.

In an interview with Okaz published yesterday, King Abdullah highlighted the close and distinguished relations that exist between the Kingdom and Jordan. He described his visit as coming within the framework of the existing consultations and coordination between the two countries, adding that it will provide him with a good opportunity to thank King Fahd, Crown Prince Abdullah, and the government and people of Saudi Arabia for their support to Jordan during critical circumstances.
