Kingdom gives aid to Algeria and to Chechnya

In line with directives from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Bin Abdul Aziz, the first of two planes left Riyadh today for Algeria, carrying tents, blankets and foodstuffs for victims of the recent earthquake there.
Meanwhile, King Fahd yesterday made a donation of SR 18.78 million [U.S. $ 5 million] for Chechen Muslims within the framework of the campaign being organized by the Joint Saudi Committee for the Relief of Kosovo and Chechnya. Interior Minister Prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz donated SR 2 million [U.S. $ 0.53 million], and Governor of Riyadh Province Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz SR 1 million [U.S. $ 0.27 million]. Donations from the television campaign totaled almost SR 47 million [U.S. $ 12.53 million].
