Addressing the 54th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York
yesterday, Assistant Foreign Minister Dr. Nizar Obaid Madani expressed the Kingdom's view
that cooperation among all members of the world community is essential to solve current
problems with responsibility, objectivity and impartiality, saying that on this depends the
future of the UN and of the world. He reiterated Saudi Arabia's concern to adhere to the UN
Charter and to support the organization and its agencies in this era of globalization. He
went on to say that in its capacity as a founding member of the United Nations, the Kingdom
still sought to enforce the same values that were set in organizing it, including rejection
of war and violence among nations.
