King Fahd pardons prisoners

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz, in a humanitarian gesture to mark the advent of the three-day Eid El-Fitr festival that follows the end of the holy month of Ramadan, today pardoned 7,766 Saudi nationals and 3,118 foreigners currently serving sentences in Saudi prisons for minor crimes and misdemeanors.  King Fahd's concern is that such offenders be reunited with their families at this time, and that they repent fully of their misdeeds.
