"Our brothers in Islam:
Peace be on you and may God Almighty bless you.
From Makkah, close to the House of God, we would like to congratulate you on the commencement of the Eid Al-Fitr, asking God to make this Eid a happy one and full of prosperity and blessings for you all. The holy month of Ramadan just past was received with great happiness, and today we celebrate Eid El-Fitr after completing thirty days of fasting with faithful hearts. Eid El-Fitr is a great opportunity for us to pause and review the problems and difficulties that have afflicted the Islamic world, hindering its development and prosperity. We are saddened by the bloodshed in certain Muslim countries, a situation which could have been dealt with through cooperation and adherence to Islamic principles. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia works strenuously to spread the word and to follow Islamic roles and procedures, applying them to each activity in life in order to benefit and serve Muslims and Islam all over the world, and is concerned with building good relationships within the Islamic world in order to ensure peace for all mankind.
We call for all to join in the effort to bring peace and stability to the world, and are confident that the Islamic world can overcome all negative situations, especially since it possesses capable people, sources of power, and strategic positions. All Muslims must follow the right track and work sincerely under the umbrella of Islamic shari'ah which guarantees justice and moral freedom. It is to be hoped that peace, stability and prosperity will prevail worldwide, and that oppression, arrogance and injustice will disappear. As a primary objective, we must work rapidly towards the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and bring an end to the Israeli occupation of Arab lands, in order to have security and prosperity in the Middle East.
Our brothers in Islam:
In conclusion, we would like to repeat our congratulations and wish all of you good health and peace."
