Prince Sultan answers query on Iraq situation

On his arrival at King Abdul Aziz Airport in Jeddah yesterday evening, Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Insector-General, held a press conference in which he called on all Arab and Islamic nations to cooperate with each other. In response to a question regarding his assessment of the security situation in the Arabian Gulf region, particularly after the U.S. statements on striking Iraq if it did not implement the UN resolutions, Prince Sultan stated:
"As you know, we do not favor a [military] strike against Iraq, as a people and as a nation.  We say to Saddam Hussein to conform with the UN Security Council resolutions in order to protect his people, and implement them to avoid the calamities to  which his people were exposed seven years ago."
