Kingdom's statemetn on current situation in Lebanon

In a statement released yesterday, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia declared that it is following with deep interest the news currently circulating concerning the Israeli government's decision to pull its forces out from the occupied territories in southern Lebanon and the western Beka'a, and reaffirmed its constant and continued support of Lebanon and Syria on this issue, that it is necessary for Israel to withdraw, unconditionally and without restrictions, from all occupied Lebanese territory, in light of the Kingdom's view of the dangers of a situation that threatens to destroy the peace process.

The Kingdom also hopes that this move is followed by implementation of UN resolution 425, resumption of Syrian-Israeli negotiations from the point where they stopped, and removal of the obstacles facing the Palestinian-Israeli peace process so that it can achieve its set targets in line with its known bases and principles.
