Survey of road accidents in the Kingdom

The Arabic language daily Al-Jazirah yesterday published a new statistical survey showing that every day eight people die in road accidents in Saudi Arabia while 65 others receive injuries.  The survey also disclosed that 50 percent of the accidents are caused by exceeding the proper speed limit, 13 percent are due to violation of traffic signs and lights, and 11 percent by illegal crossings and 'u' turns.  The fourth gulf traffic conference will take place next Saturday with the title: ''Your children's smile - don't blow it out with an accident.''
