Saudi gold production to increase

President of the Ma'adin Mining Company Abdullah Al-Dabbagh has reported that over 50,000 ounces of gold a year will be added to Saudi Arabia's gold output with the start in 2000 of the production process at Al-Hajar mine.   The mine, located about forty miles west of the town of Bisha in the southwestern part of the Kingdom, has been estimated to have deposits of 4.2 million tonnes with a concentration of 2.6 grammes per tonne.
