Information Minister Dr. Fuad Ibn Abdulsalam Al-Farsi reported that the Crown Prince went on to express the Kingdom's support of the final communiqué issued by the recently-concluded meeting in Morocco of the Al-Quds Committee, which considers the Holy City of Al-Quds [Jerusalem] an integral part of the occupied Arab territories, rejects legislative, administrative and settlement measures that aim at changing its status, and reiterates that the steps taken by Israeli authorities in Jerusalem constitute violation of the bases of peace in the Middle East and threaten world peace and security.
The cabinet then issued a number of decisions on domestic matters, including approval that for 1998 the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia underwrite 2,391 shares to the value of U.S. $10,000 each, equivalent to 25,870,620 in Special Drawing Rights, in the capital of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) [World Bank Group].
