Information Minister Dr. Fouad Ibn Abdulsalam Al-Farsi reported that Crown Prince Abdullah went on to pledge, in accordance with the directions of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd Ibn Abdul Aziz, that the leadership would continue to provide all parts of the Kingdom with modern services.
Discussing the latest developments in the Arab, Islamic and international arenas, the cabinet described the Middle East peace process as crippled due to Israeli practices which are increasingly arrogant and intransigent, and appealed to its co-sponsors, in particular the United States, to exert greater efforts to reinforce the relevant UN resolutions.
Concerning the recent skirmishes in Kashmir along the common border of India and Pakistan, Crown Prince Abdullah called on the two neighboring countries to take the approach of dialogue to tackle the current problems between them by peaceful means.
Turning to domestic matters, the council decided on a number of resolutions, including an amendment to the regulations governing the appointment of mayors, and the formation in a number of provinces, of arbitration committees to settle labor disputes.
